Sofiia Raichenko

Sofia Raichenko was born in Kyiv, Ukraine. At the age of 4, she began playing the piano. Sofia studied at the Kyiv Institute of Music with Anna Smekhova, at the Kyiv Tchaikovsky Academy with Yuri Kot, at the Maastricht Conservatorium with Katia Veekmans and Henk Guitart, and in Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln under the tutorship of Anthony Spiri and Harold Schoneweg. While studying she became a winner of international competitions such as: The Prokofiev Piano Competition, The Bortniansky Chamber Music Competition, Vincenzo Scaramuzza Competition, Music Award Maastricht, Storioni Trio Competition, Taneyev Chamber Music Competition, Kammermusik Wettbewerb in Cologne. 

As a member of the chamber ensembles Sofia participated in the Academia Chigiana in Siena, Italy and Orlando Festival in Kerkrade, Netherlands. She had masterclasses with Michael Kugel, Alexander Zemtsov, Bruno Giuranna, Lilya Zilberstein, Jean-Bernard Pommier, Enrico Pace. As a chamber musician, Sofia performed at many concerts and festivals in Europe, Asia and South America. With the Malevich Piano Quartet she made premier recordings for the Etcetera Records label of Oscar van Hemel Piano Quartet and Hans Kox Piano Quartets.
