Violin

From the age of nine she was accepted as a child prodigy in the “Stoliarsky School for gifted children”. During her early years in Odessa she played for Isaac Stern and Ivry Gitlis and regularly performed as soloist with orchestra. 

She pursued her studies at the Moscow State Conservatory where she graduated under the guidance of Prof. Yuri Yankelevich, and string quartet with Prof. Valentin Berlinsky (Borodin Quartet). 

She won the 1st prize in the Carl Flesch Competition in London, ARD Violin Competition Munich, Romano Romanini Brescia, and was prize winner in Paganini Competition and ARD Duo Competition. 

As a soloist Prof. Schwarzberg has performed with the Israel Philarmonic, New York Philharmonic, Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra, London Philharmonic etc. under conductors such as Yehudi Menuhin, Mstislav Rostropovich, Alexander Vedernikov, Adam Fischer, etc. in Concert Halls such as Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall NY, Musikverein Hall and Konzerthaus Vienna, Royal Albert Hall and Queen Elisabeth Hall London, Salle Pleyel Paris, Herculessaal Munich, Mann Auditorium Tel Aviv, Benyaney Hall Jerusalem etc.

Pavel Berman attracted the international attention when he won the First Prize and Gold Medal at the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis in 1990.

Pavel Berman was born in Moscow where he studied at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory and in 1992 he moved on to study with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School in New York and with Isaac Stern.

Berman has appeared as a soloist and/or conductor with such orchestras as Italian Virtuosi, Moscow Virtuosi, Mantua Chamber Orchestra, Haydn and Bolzano Orchestra, Toscanini Symphony of Parma, Verona Symphony Orchestra, Genoa Theatre Orchestra, Orchestra RAI of Turin, La Fenice Orchestra of Venice, Santa Cecilia Orchestra, Moscow Symphony Orchestra, Prague Philarmonie Orchestra, Prague Symphony, Romanian National Radio Orchestra, Portuguese National Symphony Orchestra, Liverpool Royal Philharmonic, Lisboa Theatre, Wurtembergische Philharmonie Orchestra, Staatskapelle Dresden, the Berliner Symphoniker, Vilnius Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony, Atlanta Symphony, Dallas Symphony, Beijing Philharmonic, etc.

The award-winning Latvian violinist Eva Bindere comes from a well-known family of musicians. During her musical studies in Riga, she was awarded a scholarship to study in Dallas with Eduard Schmieder and later on in City of Basel Music Academy in Switzerland where she studied with Raphael Oleg, as well as with Hatto Beyerle and Valther Levin in their renowned chamber music course.

In 1997, when Gidon Kremer founded Kremerata Baltica chamber orchestra, Ms Bindere became its first concertmaster and led the orchestra for fifteen years. With Kremerata, she traveled around the world, regularly performing as a soloist and duo partner with Gidon Kremer. Disc “After Mozart” where Ms Bindere is also a soloist received a Grammy award. She also performed in string quartet “Euphonia” together with her Kremerata colleagues.

Ms Bindere has been the guest leader of Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Tallinn Chamber Orchestra, Latvian National Symphony Orchestra, Sudwestdeutsche Philharmonie Konstanz, Sinfonietta Basel and East West Chamber Orchestra. She has also led Kammerorchester Basel, Amsterdam Sinfonietta, Camerata Bern and Moscow Soloists in collaboration projects.

Ms Bindere has special affinity for chamber music making and has performed in partnership with Pierre Amoyal, Renaud Capucon, Hagen Quartet, Boris Garlitsky, Antoine Tamestit, Maxim Rysanov, Gerard Causse, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Yo Yo Ma, Gautier Capucon, Mario Brunello, Boris Pergamenshikov, Katia Skanavi, Leif Ove Andsnes, Martin Stadtfeld, Alexander Melnikov and Martin Helmchen. A very enjoyable music making with fellow Latvian musicians, the first cello of the London Philharmonic Orchestra Kristina Blaumane and the brilliant pianist Reinis Zarins, has grown into an established ensemble, Trio Palladio, their Wigmore Hall debut was described as “ excellent” by The Times and their first
cd featuring works for piano trio by the world famous Latvian composer Peteris Vasks has been released on Ondine last spring receiving excellent reviews and being chosen as one of Gramophone Magazine discs of the month.
The release of Latvian composer’s Talivaldis Kenins Violin Concerto on SKANI label last year brought Eva a 5 star review from The Strad.

Since 2008, Ms Bindere is a full time professor and a beloved lecturer in Jāzeps Vītols Latvian Academy of Music. She also juries international competitions and gives regular masterclasses in Collegium Musicum Schloss Pommersfelden, Livorno Festival , Sinfonicamente in Verona and Järvi String Academy.

In 2017, a collaboration with Accademia Perosi in Biella, Italy, began, and Ms Bindere started giving a chamber orchestra/ensemble playing course as an invited professor there, from this year starting a violin class as well. In March 2017 Ms Bindere was honoured with the Latvian Grand Music Award, the highest state recognition in the field of music.

Born in Florence, she began studying the violin with the Suzuki Method and, at just eighteen, graduated as a private student from the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatory in Florence with top marks and honors.

In the years 1983-84-85, she attended the Advanced Courses at the Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena with Masters Piero Farulli, Riccardo Brengola, and the Trio di Trieste, earning a scholarship and a Diploma of Merit each year. At the Accademia S. Cecilia in Portogruaro (VE), she studied under P. Vernikov, I. Grubert, and Z. Gilels.

For two consecutive years (1986-87), she won the Città di Portogruaro Competition. She later refined her skills at the Chamber Music Academy in Mestre (VE) with D. Asciolla, at the Academie de Musique de Sion (Switzerland) with S. Gheorghiu, and in Rome with V. Brodski.

She has collaborated as a duo with Gioventù Musicale Italiana. Additionally, she has performed with the Carme and Divertimento Ensemble of Milan, the Nuovo Gruppo Strumentale Italiano, Hyperion Ensemble, Agimus Firenze, the "Solisti" and "Cameristi" of La Scala, the ORT Ensemble, Gli Archi della Scala, and the Ensemble Respighi of Bologna.

As concertmaster and soloist, she has collaborated with the following orchestras: Orchestra Internazionale d'Italia, RAI Orchestra of Milan, and the Stabile Orchestra of Bergamo.

In May 1991, she won the audition for the concertmaster position at the Orchestra della Toscana (ORT).
