Emil Visenescu
Emil Visenescu – is a solo clarinet player of the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and clarinet teacher at the National Music University Bucharest. After he studied in Romania with Gheorghe Vlad, Ion Cudalbu and Valeriu Barbuceanu, he continued to develop his musical skills abroad with Walter Boeykens, Karl Leister, Joseph Balogh and Stefan Korody-Kreutzer. Between 2000 and 2002 he completed his studies with a soloist diploma by the Hochschule fur Musik und Theater Bern- Switzerland, under the guidance of Ernesto Molinari.
Emil Visenescu won several international competitions:
Aurelian Octav Popa International Competition – (Constanza – Romania) 1995, Jeunesse Musicales Internaţional Competition – Bucharest (Romania) 1996, Martha Moser Competition - Biel (Swizerland) 2001 and Tschumi Musik Preis - Bern (Swizerland) 2002. He was invited as member of the Jury to the Gheorghe Dima International Competition – Cluj (Romania), Jeunesses Musicales International Competition – Bucharest (Romania) and Sava Dimitrov International Competition – Sofia, (Bulgaria).
He was invited to teach into the International Summer Course in – Bistriţa (Romania), Icon Arts International Summer Course – Cisnădie (Romania, the Sighișoara Music Academie, the Akademica Kronstat International Summer Course Brasov(Romania), the Academy of Music and Dance - Jerusalim (Israel), Oldenburg University (Germany), Metric International Improvisation Course – Tallin – (Estonia) and at ZHdK – Zurich(Swizerland).
He had solo clarinet recitals at the Academy of Music and Dance - Jerusalem and Salon d’Or Hotel Behague in Paris, The International Week for Contemporary Music in Bucharest, the Meridian Festival, the WorldNew Music Days and during the Internaţional George Enescu Music Festival.
Emil Visenescu played as a special guest of the romanian quartets Voces, Arioso and Transilvanian during the Festivals as Musical Autumn in Cluj, Voces Festival in Iaşi or the Ionel Perlea Music Days from Slobozia. He took part in concert tours with the Mozaic Trio and the Profil Simfonietta in Bern and Biel (Swizerland), at the Elzenveld Cultural Centre, Anvers (Belgium), at the Internaţional Festival The Warshau Automn, in Basel, Zürich and Berlin.
As soloist he played with Symphonietta Dresden, The Bern Symphony Orchestra, Biel Symphony Orchestra and Ludus – private orchestra Bern, then with all the major romanian orchestras. Emil Visenescu have recorded a large number of compositions dedicated to him by many romanian composers, in the Romanian Radio House.
Since 2002, he founded a clarinet ensemble named “Clarino” (sic!) formed by the students from the Music University in Bucharest, with the multiple purpose: to develop the chamber music qualities of the students, to use them playing with all clarinets from the family, to put them often on the stage and to generate interest from the composers in order to write music for this group. Since then, Clarino was invited by all the major festivals as New Music Week – Bucharest, Meridian International Festival-Bucharest and George Enescu International Festival.
As teacher he dedicated all his energy in order to help the new generations of players to develop their technical and musical skills and to build their artistical personalities. His ex-students are now active clarinet players in all major orchestras in Bucharest and young clarinet teachers as well.
Since 2017 he studied also conducting with prof. Dumitru Goia, being now invited as guest conductor by many romanian symphony orchestras.
