About Chieti Classica

From the 1st to the 20th of July 2026, the historic city of Chieti will once again come alive with music as it hosts the 9th edition of the Chieti Classica International Music Festival, an immersive celebration of music, education, and artistic discovery at the very heart of Italy.

Welcoming young musicians alongside some of today’s most distinguished international artists, the festival offers a wide variety of courses and masterclasses, led by a faculty that includes such names as cellist Alexander Chaushian, violinists Pavel Berman, Eva Bindere and Dora Schwarzberg, tenor Fabio Armiliato, violist Zvi Carmeli, and pianist Giuliano Mazzoccante

Moreover, adding an exciting interdisciplinary dimension, Chieti Classica 2026 will also host a special theatre workshop led by the acclaimed Massimo Di Michele, from the 6th to the 11th of July, which will be open to both young students and experienced practitioners.

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

It is with great enthusiasm that I would like to present the ninth edition of the Chieti Classica International Music Festival!

The constant presence of this wonderful event from 2018 onwards in the beautiful city of Chieti, is a sign of how much our association cares about the promotion of culture and classical music in our region, through the presence of so many talented young people from all over the world, as well as our cohort of internationally renowned pedagogues and professors, all of whom are leading names in their fields.

The news we receive every day reveals how difficult and complex the times we are living in are. Culture, Art and Music really become a hope, a light, and a way of protesting against the disharmonies of our time. Quoting the immortal Leonard Bernstein: "This will be our reply to violence: to make music more intensely, more beautifully, more devotedly than ever before."

With the hope that our festival will leave a mark in your hearts and that it will prove to be an important stage of your musical training, I wish you an unforgettable stay at Chieti Classica 2026!

Konstantin Ishkhanov
President of Chieti Classica International Music Festival

Dear Friends,

It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to this latest edition of the Chieti Classica International Music Festival.

Chieti Classica was founded with a clear goal of celebrating the richness of classical music while fostering dialogue between generations, cultures, and artistic traditions. Set in a city of such remarkable cultural import, this festival provides a unique space where young and emerging talents can meet, collaborate, and share their passion for music alongside some of the most acclaimed names in the classical music world.

Over the years, Chieti Classica has grown into an international platform that values artistic excellence, music education, and cultural exchange in equal measure. Through its masterclasses and collaborative projects, the festival continues to support young musicians at crucial stages of their development, offering them the chance to engage in meaningful and memorable musical experiences.

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to our faculty, partners, and supporters, whose dedication and vision make this festival possible, and to wish all of you an inspiring and rewarding festival, filled with creativity, discovery, and the joy that only our shared global heritage of music can bring.
