Marco Iezzi

Singer, artist manager, founder and owner of the agency BJM Management, stage director, set designer, vocal coach.

He studied singing at the “Luisa D’Annunzio” Conservatory (Pescara) in the class of Prof. A. Muscente, later refining his skills under the guidance of the renowned tenors G. Raimondi and B. Prior. He graduated in Lyric Singing with top marks from the “Gaetano Braga” Conservatory (Teramo). He obtained a Master’s Degree with honors in “Theory and Practice of Music and Theatre” from the “Gabriele d’Annunzio” University (Pescara).

He was the winner of the VI International Singing Competition “Mario Lanza” in the “New Voice” category (2002) and a finalist at the International Opera Singing Festival “Marie Kraja” in Tirana (2004), representing Italy.

From 2001 to 2009 he performed leading roles in opera productions at the Teatro Marrucino (Chieti, Italy), including, among others, Rodolfo (La Bohème), Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi), Cavaradossi (Tosca), Pinkerton (Madama Butterfly), Ruggero (La Rondine) by G. Puccini; Alfredo (La Traviata), Ismaele (Nabucco), Macduff (Macbeth), Fenton (Falstaff) by G. Verdi; Tamino (The Magic Flute) by W. A. Mozart; Don José (Carmen) by G. Bizet. He also performed leading roles in contemporary operas presented in world premieres such as: Segreto importante by S. Rendine, Le Avventure di Pinocchio, Cantica Faceta and I Quattro Elementi by A. Cericola, Anno Domini ’3000 by F. Mannino, Pasqua Fiorentina by I. Capitanio.

He has performed as a tenor soloist in Carl Orff’s cantata Carmina Burana in numerous Italian and international cities and has interpreted important roles in prestigious theatres such as:
La Fenice (Venice), Teatro Petruzzelli (Bari), Teatro Regio (Turin), Teatro Comunale (Bologna), Teatro Ponchielli (Cremona), Teatro Grande (Brescia), and others.

Also highly engaged in the sacred repertoire, he has debuted as a countertenor in several contemporary works and performing cantatas written specifically for him.

His numerous tours have led him to collaborate with important conductors including, among others, D. Renzetti, G. Gelmetti, M. De Bernart, J. Latham-Koenig, F. Mannino, G. Andreoli, G. Montanari, L. Acocella, A. Sisillo, M. Stefanelli, M. Conti, D. Jurowski, V. Parisi, M. Dones, D. Lucantoni, A. Veronesi. He has also worked with stage directors L. Kemp, E. Stinchelli, U. Gregoretti, M. Flach, M. Nichetti, F. Vacchi, A. Fava.

Since the early stages of his career, Marco has shown a strong inclination toward the organization, management, and direction of events and, in recent years, also toward stage directing; these qualities quickly led him to found the opera agency BJM MANAGEMENT (founded in 2018), which boasts a roster of approximately 100 artists from all over the world.
Within the activities of his opera agency, Marco works as an organizer and jury member in numerous international singing competitions.

Since 2022, Marco Iezzi has held the position of Production Director of the Teatro Marrucino in Chieti.
