Inaugural Concert Opens the Festival with Great Success

The 2026 Festival opened in splendid fashion on 30 June with a memorable inaugural concert at the beautiful Teatro Giardino of Palazzo de' Mayo, welcoming a large and enthusiastic audience for an evening dedicated to choral music.

The concert featured the Ud'AinCanto Choir of the "G. d'Annunzio" University of Chieti–Pescara, whose performance was met with warm applause and widespread acclaim. Their rich and expressive programme created a festive atmosphere, setting the tone for the days of music and celebration ahead.

The opening evening was attended by numerous guests and local representatives, including the Mayor, who expressed great appreciation for the festival and highlighted the importance of cultural initiatives that bring together artists, audiences, and the local community. He praised the organisers for creating an event that enriches the city's cultural life while welcoming visitors from across Italy and abroad.

Before the performance, Maestro Giuliano Mazzoccante warmly greeted the audience and officially welcomed participants, artists, and guests to the festival. In his address, he spoke about the importance of music as a universal language capable of connecting people across cultures and generations, while thanking everyone who contributed to making the event possible.

The enthusiastic response from the audience and the joyful atmosphere throughout the evening marked a highly successful beginning to the festival, promising an exciting programme of concerts and artistic events in the days to come.
